WHY IS EXPERIMENTAL PHENOMENOLOGY IMPORTANT?

EPh is important because it provides the most appropriate approach for phenomenological psychophysics, that is a form of contemporary psychophysics where you are not linking the properties of physical stimuli to the properties of psychological sensations, but how a condition appears to a subject to his/her response to it. The well known placebo effect is an example of the relevance not of the properties of the physical stimulus (the pill) but of subjects’ experience of the pill in determining their psychological response.
